Dr. Terry L. Weems, a native of Laurel, MS, is the 9th of 12 children to Mother Nezzie Lee and the late Ernest Weems. He gave his life to Jesus Christ at the age of 15 and faithfully served at East Jerusalem Full Gospel Church, under the late Bishop Willie E. Hines, his Father in-Law. He is married to Sherry Hines Weems and they have a son, TJ (University of Southern MS, May 2013), and the loving memory of their 2nd son, JT. Pastor Weems and Lady Weems reside in Columbia, MS.
He’s a graduate of Southeastern Bible College (AA Degree in Bible); Exodus School of the Bible (Bachelor's Degree in Biblical Studies); Christian Life School of Theology (Doctor in Ministry); and Beacon University (Doctor in Ministry).
Pastor Weems accepted the pastorate at New Life Fellowship Full Gospel Church, Columbia, MS in 1991 (Formerly Amen, Holy Deliverance Church, 1988-1991), and because of the heart-felt call of God to full time ministry, on December 31, 1996, he resigned his position with Flag Star Corporation (Hardees) as Area Supervisor, overseeing 9 regional restaurants in AL, LA, and MS.
In his service, it is notable that:
As Senior Pastor of New Life Fellowship Church, the church has expanded to three locations in McComb, MS (1997) and Silver Creek, MS (2004). At present, he is overseeing the acquisition and renovation of a 20,000 square foot bowling lane building that will become the new church facilities for the Columbia location.
As a Community Leader, Dr. Weems is Founder and President of New Life Fellowship Ministries, Inc. a non-profit, 501c3, faith-based organization which provided services through affordable housing, education, leadership training, family enrichment, child care, grant administration, and community development (est. 1998).
As a Businessman, he has established Weems Ministry Center, LLC; JT’s Auto; and mentors business leaders and visionaries.
As an Author, he released his first book in 2008, “Unique Challenges of African American Pastors”.
As Chancellor of the New Life Fellowship School of Ministry, campuses have expanded to currently include Brookhaven, Columbia, Jackson, and McComb. Homestudy is also available.
As Overseer of A.C.T.S. Fellowship of Ministry Leaders, he provides mentoring and fellowship for ministry leaders. They all convene the annual Holy Convocation.
Dr. Weems travels frequently, preaching and teaching the Word of God with excitement and destiny, giving a life-inspiring Word with a realization that you have "One Life to Live".
His wife says he lives his life like he preaches, with Excitement, Humbleness and Integrity to the Word. His philosophy to preaching is simple, “JUST STICK TO THE TEXT, and, if you do this, you can’t mess it up”.
